Tactileo Creates Immersive and Engaging e-Learning Modules with 3D Models

Maskott, a French digital learning solutions developer for the education sector, faced the challenge of modernizing and diversifying the interactive content on its Tactileo e-learning platform. They needed to create more engaging, animated courses that would be fully responsive on any device, from computers to smartphones. To address this, they turned to the vendor Sketchfab and its 3D model hosting and viewer service.

The solution involved Maskott creating and uploading 500 educational 3D models to Sketchfab, which were then integrated into various Tactileo learning modules. Using Sketchfab allowed students to interact with and explore the models from all angles, with annotations providing additional information. The models were also viewable in Augmented and Virtual Reality. This implementation by Sketchfab resulted in a more playful, innovative, and immersive learning experience, which was instrumental in supporting a massive +700% increase in platform usage during the COVID-19 pandemic.
