A SKC Communications Case Study
Johnson County Community College wanted to transform its Healthcare Simulation Center into a highly realistic training environment that could mimic hospitals, patient care areas, surgery, births, and trauma scenarios. To support that vision, vendor SKC Communications worked with the college and Studiocode Business Group to design an advanced audio/visual system using products such as Crestron touch panels, Elmo PTZ cameras, Shure microphones, Sharp monitors, and Biamp audio components.
SKC Communications implemented a unique setup with three PTZ cameras in each room, instructor-controlled Crestron touch panels, in-wall speakers for patient audio, and ceiling microphones for clear two-way communication. The result was a simulation center that gives students a more immersive, full-hospital experience and more opportunities for faculty to review performance from multiple angles. JCCC became the only simulation center in the country using three cameras per room, helping better prepare students for clinical work before they enter the hospital floor.
