Case Study: Howe Public Schools expands distance learning with SKC Communications and Cisco TelePresence

Howe Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Howe Public Schools, a small rural district in eastern Oklahoma, needed a way to expand course offerings and enrich student learning beyond the limits of the classroom. Working with SKC Communications, the district built on its existing videoconferencing program with Cisco TelePresence solutions to support distance learning, virtual field trips, foreign language, Choctaw Nation culture, AP courses, and professional development.

SKC Communications recommended and helped deploy Cisco TelePresence technologies, including a TelePresence Content Server, TelePresence Codec Cg0, and EX60/EX90 systems, to strengthen the district’s video network and make video collaboration easier to use. As a result, Howe Public Schools was able to record and stream classes and encourage students to create content for global collaboration, improving presentation skills, engagement, and learning while helping the district continue to earn recognition for its distance learning program.
