University of Notre Dame College of Engineering makes sites faster and more reliable with Six Feet Up

The College of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame needed to minimize site outages and fix performance issues with their website while complying with a university mandate to standardize on Amazon Web Services (AWS). They engaged Six Feet Up to achieve a highly available deployment that their operations team could manage.

Six Feet Up used SaltStack to automate the AWS infrastructure deployment and software orchestration, creating a "push button" release process for the university's team. This included setting up Elastic Load Balancers, CloudFront CDN, and a multi-AZ RDS. As a result, the college's sites became much faster and more reliable, and the internal team gained the ability to perform their own code releases.
