SFARI improves research collaboration and search with Six Feet Up

Six Feet Up worked with the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI) to improve their online tools and integrate new systems to simplify the end-user experience. SFARI needed to cater to a wide variety of audiences, including scientists, researchers, and families affected by autism, by deploying an intuitive navigation structure and collaborative tools on their new portal, SFARI.org.

The solution implemented by Six Feet Up involved integrating a MoinMoin wiki, Vanilla discussion forums, and PubMed research articles into a new Plone-based site. They also improved search with Solr and migrated legacy content from Liferay using Transmogrifier. The result was a rich, interactive site that allows researchers, staff and the public to interact and contribute to autism research, furthering SFARI's goals on a daily basis.
