Discover Magazine, a popular science publication, required a dynamic website to seamlessly manage its rich multimedia content, social networking features, and written materials. Their existing Plone-based site, maintained by Six Feet Up, needed enhancements to integrate these diverse elements and improve overall performance.

Six Feet Up implemented a solution that integrated WordPress-MU with Plone for blog management, creating a seamless brand experience. They developed features including a Flash content player, real-time polling, social sharing tools, and automated import of magazine issues from InDesign files. This allowed Discover to publish issues faster, offer subscriber-only content and integrate multimedia, which substantially increased site traffic. Six Feet Up's work resulted in one of the largest and most popular Plone websites at the time.
