Central New Mexico Community College rebuilds COVID app with Six Feet Up to support 3 million annual entries

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) faced the challenge of managing a heavily used but inflexible COVID-19 check application. The app, which was critical for allowing students and staff to return to campus, had a design that created bottlenecks for its single developer and suffered from performance lag. CNM engaged Six Feet Up to rebuild the application for greater speed and administrative flexibility.

Six Feet Up re-engineered the application using a Django backend with a REST API and a React frontend. This new design allowed administrators to easily alter assessment questions without a code release and provided a more responsive experience. While not yet in production at the time of writing, the rebuilt app was designed to handle all existing data with a significantly improved degree of usability for both end-users and system administrators.
