Berenfield Containers launches a Firefox-based replacement for Outlook with Six Feet Up

Berenfield Containers, a manufacturer of steel drums, faced a challenge in managing its customer relations and manufacturing processes. The company needed a web-based system to replace its Outlook-based method, one that could be accessed by multiple employees across various plant locations and platforms. They enlisted the help of vendor Six Feet Up to develop this application.

Six Feet Up is developing a custom Firefox-based application to provide synchronized distributed access to a central database. The solution involves integrating LDAP and SQL data sources with a Zope 3 backend and broadcasting updates via a Jabber server. This new system being built by Six Feet Up will allow sales representatives to record customer interactions and help plant managers supervise production orders with multiple levels of user access.
