Sweetwater, one of North America’s largest music retailers, prides itself on customer service and a tech-forward ecommerce approach. Their unique Guitar Gallery lets shoppers view photos of each serialized guitar, but research showed the feature wasn’t obvious enough—Sweetwater needed to increase awareness and engagement without impacting site performance, so they ran experiments using SiteSpect.
They tested a treatment that added a large banner above the product image and a compact sidebar with details for the selected guitar. The change drove a 113% increase in unique views of serialized guitar pages, lifted average order value by 5.72% and purchases containing a guitar by 6.64%, and generated strong positive customer feedback.
