A major liquor retail chain with a large online inventory used SiteSpect to tackle a recurring ecommerce challenge: its product detail pages (PDPs) were crowded with multiple elements (image, price/quantity, extended details, and cross-sell recommendations), and the optimization team suspected the extended item details were not driving conversions. They ran an A/B test to streamline the PDP and better prioritize the elements that matter to shoppers.
The test removed the extended item details and moved the cross-sell product recommendations above the fold. The streamlined PDP produced an 8.5% lift in adds-to-cart, an 18% increase in order confirmations, and is projected to deliver $1.1 million in additional revenue over a year, so the variation was rolled out to 100% of traffic.
