A Sitemorse Case Study
Harrogate Borough Council, the local authority serving around 160,000 people in North Yorkshire, faced widespread website issues including accessibility and compliance failures, broken links and over 10,000 spelling mistakes. Sitemorse software was used to perform an automated site audit that identified these defects at scale and highlighted where the site needed most attention.
Sitemorse delivered automated monitoring, a prioritisation workshop and continuous checks (including during the Jadu CMS rollout), helping the council fix high‑impact pages first and then the wider site. As a result Harrogate moved from 409th (score 2.8) in the Sitemorse Local Government INDEX in Q1 2015 to 14th (score 8.0) by Q3 2016 — a climb of nearly 400 places, reflecting clear, measurable improvements in quality and compliance.
