A Siteimprove Case Study
The Minnesota Department of Revenue, a state agency responsible for legally governed public content and implementing the governor’s Plain Language initiative, faced the challenge of managing decentralized content across Communications, MN.IT and many content contributors while improving accessibility, reducing broken links and misspellings, and freeing limited administrator time.
By adopting Siteimprove’s suite (Quality Assurance, Analytics, Accessibility, SEO and Response) and creating user groups, the department empowered content owners to run weekly QA, track plain-language needs and view analytics themselves, speeding up changes and easing admin burden. Results included a 94.3% reduction in broken links (298 → 17), a 59.5% reduction in misspellings (37 → 15), faster site edits and clearer data-driven priorities for accessibility and content cleanup.
