Achieving Excellence During Website Redesign

Harvard Extension School, part of Harvard University’s continuing education program, needed to maintain Harvard-level standards across multiple Drupal sites that serve prospective and current students with a mix of online and on-campus offerings. During two recent redesigns the team faced the challenge of ensuring accessibility and quality across hundreds to thousands of pages and CMS-generated markup that isn’t accessible out of the box, and wanted to catch issues before going live rather than fixing them in production.

They used Siteimprove throughout development and post-launch as a “red-flag” QA and accessibility tool to identify broken links, misspellings, and accessibility issues early. This workflow drove measurable improvements — a 74% reduction in broken links and a 44% reduction in misspellings — and helped the team continuously improve accessibility and site quality.
