A Sitefinity Case Study
The Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center, one of the largest genealogical research collections in the U.S., needed a modern web presence to serve both local patrons and a growing, tech-savvy generation of online genealogists. Its original site was a piecemealed collection of links with no CMS, poor usability, and reliance on IT for updates; the library required a scalable, multi-phase solution with searchable resources, online communications, donation functionality, a news archive, and interactive features.
Aptera implemented Sitefinity as the CMS, giving librarians an intuitive, non‑IT way to manage content and add features like a blog, events calendar, and shared calls-to-action to improve site flow and engagement. Launched in five months, the redesign reduced build time, enabled rapid content updates, improved usability, and drew strong positive feedback from patrons and the library foundation while allowing the Genealogy Center to independently maintain and promote its services.
