United Airlines builds better airport experiences with Sitecore

United Airlines wanted to make airport travel less stressful by improving how it delivered gate, boarding, and other critical flight information across thousands of digital signs. To do that, the airline partnered with Sitecore to streamline content authoring and support personalized, multilingual messaging for English- and Spanish-speaking passengers.

Sitecore implemented a composable, headless cloud solution using Sitecore XM Cloud, Sitecore CDP, and Sitecore Personalize, with delivery through Vercel and support from Sitecore360. The platform consolidated 9 CMS systems onto one Sitecore platform and now powers 1,800 digital signs seen by more than 35 million passengers a year; 82% of surveyed Spanish-speaking customers said translations eased their travel experience, and 66% of surveyed English-speaking customers praised the improved personalization and language features.
