Transforming AGLC’s B2B eCommerce experience with OrderCloud

AGLC, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis organization, needed to modernize a costly, manual B2B ecommerce process that made order entry, product allocation, and scaling difficult on its legacy Sitecore XP/XC platform. Working with Sitecore and XCentium, AGLC set out to improve the retailer ordering experience while ensuring fair distribution and better support for growing cannabis retailer demand.

Sitecore implemented OrderCloud and moved the platform to Azure Cloud, automating ordering, fulfillment, and inventory management with a composable, API-first architecture. The result was a more scalable and reliable system that delivered about $400,000 in annual savings, a 20% improvement in order processing times, and more than a 50% reduction in unplanned downtime, while also supporting 24/7 ordering and driving weekly sales to $13 million.
