Case Study: University of Idaho achieves mobile-first responsive web transformation with Sitecore

A Sitecore Case Study

Preview of the University of Idaho Case Study

The University of Idaho uses Sitecore® to engage audiences that are increasingly mobile—students, alumni, faculty, and employees—with fresh content created centrally and within academic units

The University of Idaho faced a shift to mobile-first audiences—students, alumni, faculty and staff—and needed mobile-friendly, responsive websites, a better content editing UI, and lower costs by reducing reliance on expensive web development resources. As a long-time Sitecore customer (upgrading from CMS 6.5), UI chose Sitecore solutions to support the redesign.

Using the Sitecore Experience Platform 7.2 with Sitecore Page Editor, Sitecore MVC and Web Forms for Marketers—implemented alongside agency POSSIBLE’s MVC “scaffolding” templates—UI empowered nontechnical content authors to build responsive pages quickly. The Sitecore-powered solution produced 6,448 responsive pages across 150 websites (in nine months), optimized the mobile user experience, streamlined staffing and reduced dependence on web developers, and improved content audit and QA processes.
