Case Study: Royal Navy achieves streamlined content publishing and increased engagement with Sitecore

A Sitecore Case Study

Preview of the Royal Navy Case Study

The Royal Navy is the senior service of the United Kingdom’s armed forces employing 30,000 sailors, aircrew and marines

The Royal Navy, the UK’s senior service with about 30,000 sailors, aircrew and marines, operates a single corporate website of roughly 4,500 active pages to inform personnel, families and the public and to support recruiting 3,000 new recruits each year. After relying on multiple CMSs, the Royal Navy needed a modern platform with better publishing, template support, social-media agility and a safe environment for family communications, so it engaged Sitecore and its Web Management solution.

Sitecore provided a total Web Management solution that enabled dynamic, media-rich content, bespoke content modules and approved forum/chat features (including an interactive news map and potential homepage personalization). The rollout improved publishing automation, cut editing time through reusable modules, broadened content generation by allowing lower-level users to update news, increased site traffic and reduced clicks to key information, and met stringent security requirements via extensive penetration testing.
