Tokyo Gas, Japan’s largest natural gas utility, faced the challenge of entering the retail electricity market while its legacy web platform limited content, engagement, and required vendor-dependent publishing. To better understand and serve new electricity customers and increase digital connections, Tokyo Gas chose Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) to redesign its customer portal and modernize content workflows.

Using Sitecore XP (with implementation support from Avanade), Tokyo Gas moved content management in-house, delivered real-time personalized experiences, and drastically shortened content release cycles. The result: online traffic nearly tripled, portal registrations increased by 600%, marketing effectiveness improved, and customers began receiving tailored information and offers through the Sitecore-powered portal.
