Subway, the world’s largest restaurant chain with 44,000 locations globally, faced an outdated loyalty process with limited insight into usage, a need for personalized targeting, higher visit frequency, scalable infrastructure for all locations and events, and stronger mobile and in-store kiosk experiences. To address this, Subway worked with Sitecore, deploying Sitecore Experience Platform (XP 8.2), Sitecore Experience Manager (XM) and Sitecore Experience Analytics (xAnalytics, Path Analyzer, xProfile) on Microsoft Azure PaaS.

Sitecore delivered a cloud-based, analytics-driven loyalty and digital experience platform that dramatically improved engagement and conversion: digital loyalty uptake rose 10x, rewards program usage grew 71%, loyalty transactions reached 4.6% in Q1 (with a 6% year-end goal), rewards membership increased 15% in Q1, digital orders doubled, digital channels accounted for 1.4% of sales, average order value jumped 3.8%, desktop conversions improved 10%+, and mobile conversions climbed 40%+. Sitecore’s solution also enabled scalable infrastructure and enhanced mobile and kiosk experiences.
