Case Study: California State Treasurer's Office achieves personalized, one-stop access to statewide business incentives with Sitecore

Promoting economic development in California, the State Treasurer’s Office creates a user-friendly web portal to help businesses find incentives and opportunities

The California State Treasurer's Office needed a single, user-friendly portal to help businesses find hundreds of state and local economic development programs that were previously scattered across dozens of sites. Working with SymSoft, the Office created the California Business Incentives Gateway (CBIG) and selected Sitecore—using Sitecore XP and Sitecore Experience Database (xDB)—to deliver a personalized, accessible digital resource.

Using Sitecore XP/xDB, the solution aggregates programs from hundreds of agencies into a one-stop portal, applies location- and behavior-driven personalization to surface the most relevant incentives, and provides faceted search, ZIP-code lookups, responsive design, and multi-agency publishing workflows. The Sitecore-powered CBIG now exposes thousands of incentives, speeds discovery for businesses, simplifies secure content management across hundreds of entities, and helps California save time and resources while meeting WCAG/Section 508 accessibility requirements.
