Pet Supplies Plus builds web and e-commerce foundation to extend neighborly feel of in-store experiences

Pet Supplies Plus, a neighborhood-focused pet retailer with more than 400 stores, needed to modernize an aging website to extend its high-touch in‑store “neighborly” experience online. The retailer sought a platform that could deliver location- and visitor‑level personalization, tight ERP integration with Microsoft Dynamics, and e‑commerce with in‑store pickup and delivery. After evaluation, Pet Supplies Plus selected Sitecore—deploying Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) on Microsoft Azure alongside Sitecore Experience Commerce (XC) powered by Microsoft Dynamics—to provide stronger content management and personalization capabilities.

Sitecore implemented a modernized site (launched early 2017) that uses Sitecore XP and xDB with Coveo search and Microsoft Dynamics integration to surface store inventory, pricing, and tailored content (including 40,000 locally curated pet photos) by customer and location. The solution gave Pet Supplies Plus a scalable, cost‑efficient foundation—supporting 40–50 new store openings annually—improved availability and performance across third‑party integrations, and enabled localized e‑commerce features (buy online, pick up in store, deliver from store) and clearer product/pricing visibility by store.
