NMDP unifies and personalizes digital experiences with Sitecore

NMDP, a nonprofit that connects donors, patients, and caregivers in lifesaving blood disease and cancer treatments, needed to modernize a fragmented digital presence made up of dozens of outdated microsites and an end-of-life CMS. As part of its rebranding, the organization sought a more unified, cost-effective platform that could improve customer experience and support multiple audiences at scale, and it chose Sitecore to help power that transformation.

Sitecore implemented a headless digital experience stack using Sitecore XM, XP, CDP, and Personalize, integrated with Salesforce and Okta to deliver unified content, analytics, and real-time personalization. The new Sitecore-powered sites cut pages by more than 90%, achieved 100% uptime with Vercel, reduced service incidents to under 1% of unique visitors, and helped NMDP become the #1 result for “bone marrow donation” searches while increasing “NMDP volunteer” searches by 132%.
