Nidec’s Appliance, Commercial and Industrial Motors division (Nidec ACIM), a global manufacturer of well‑known brands, faced a fragmented digital presence after rapid growth and acquisitions: multiple legacy sites, hard‑to‑find datasheets and installation guides, poor navigation, and the need to support 12 languages and rapid onboarding of new brands. To unify its customer experience, Nidec engaged Layer One Media and selected Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) as its digital platform.
With Layer One Media, Nidec migrated content from aging SharePoint systems into Sitecore XP (and leveraged Sitecore xDB capabilities), building a single site framework with reusable templates, regional governance, and multilingual support. Sitecore enabled rapid page replication (30 pages in about half a day), new features like distributor/product locators, inquiry pages and chat, and empowered regional teams to populate content—resulting in simplified administration, higher staff productivity, lower operating cost, and a unified global platform expected to increase web traffic and cross‑sell opportunities.
