A Sitecore Case Study
L’Oréal, the world’s largest cosmetics company, set out to become the No. 1 digital beauty brand by refreshing and relaunching 600 websites across 15 brands while unifying a portfolio of roughly 3,000 sites that see 1 billion consumer interactions daily. The challenge was to deliver a consistent, localized and highly personalized online experience for consumers across 60 country subsidiaries while reducing technology complexity and speeding time to market — a need L’Oréal addressed by selecting Sitecore (including Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) and Sitecore Experience Database (xDB) on Microsoft Azure PaaS).
Sitecore, working with implementation partner Valtech, delivered a “website factory” of reusable templates on Sitecore XP and xDB to enable rapid, localized site launches, rich personalization and analytics. The rollout consolidated web technologies from more than 10 platforms to a single Sitecore solution, halved average page load time (from seven seconds to under three), accelerated speed to market for brands, and delivered measurable cost and operational efficiencies as the global rollout continues.
