How Simplot Turned their Five Tastes Website into a 360⁰ Online ‘Foodie’ Experience

Simplot, a leading Australian food manufacturer, launched the Five Tastes brand to teach Australians how to cook authentic Asian meals but needed an inspirational, easy-to-use mobile experience and strong community engagement on a modest budget. Having already migrated major brand sites onto the Sitecore Content Management System, Simplot and agency IE chose a mobile‑first strategy and a platform capable of supporting diverse, shareable content and multi‑site management.

IE implemented a mobile‑first, responsive Five Tastes website built on the Sitecore CMS — incorporating device detection, QR-driven recipe lookups, social sharing and multi‑site efficiencies — to bring the brand experience to life. The Sitecore‑backed solution drove rapid engagement: over 10,000 Facebook fans in the first week and more than 15,000 within six months, about 18,000 monthly visitors with over 50% on mobile, making Five Tastes Simplot’s most engaged site.
