How Purina personalized the customer experience, launched e-commerce, and established an agile platform for strategic growth

Nestlé Purina, the Australian arm of the century-old pet care company, needed to consolidate disparate sub‑brand websites and deliver a personalized, commerce-enabled experience for both consumers and professional customers (breeders, groomers, etc.). To do this they partnered with Sitecore, upgrading to Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) and Sitecore Experience Commerce (XC) 9 and adopting Sitecore Experience Accelerator (SxA) to add analytics, personalization and responsive design across brands.

Sitecore implemented an integrated content-and-commerce solution that launched the first Purina for Professionals online store, automated personalized product recommendations, and replaced a paper-based loyalty program with a gated online experience tied to Gigya, SAP and Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations. The result was a cohesive brand experience, faster time-to-market through reusable SxA components, improved UX and measurable business impact in the form of the new commerce channel for professionals and the ability to quickly roll out commerce to additional professional segments — all enabled by Sitecore.
