A Sitecore Case Study
AmerisourceBergen, a global pharmaceutical services company, faced a fragmented digital presence caused by its decentralized structure—24 business units running separate CMSs, hosting, security and vendor arrangements that produced inconsistent site experiences and slow, costly updates. To unify its brands and modernize customer-facing channels, AmerisourceBergen selected Sitecore and its Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) to standardize the technology stack while preserving unit-level customization.
Working with Sitecore (and partners Ogilvy and GeekHive), AmerisourceBergen implemented Sitecore XP to provide a shared design language, modular components, and a user-experience library. The rollout trained 70 power users, unified 24 business units, cut new site launches from 9–15 months to about 3 months, reduced content migration to weeks, eliminated dependence on single webmasters, and increased traffic to thought‑leadership articles by more than 20%, improving speed, agility and cross‑site reach.
