Experiences significant increase in conversions using Sitecore to personalize its home page

easyJet, Europe’s leading low-cost airline, needed to make its busy website more relevant to each visitor. Its in‑house CMS could not deliver meaningful personalization—showing generic or irrelevant destinations—so easyJet engaged Sitecore (with partner True Clarity) to deliver personalized experiences using Sitecore CMS and the Sitecore Online Marketing Suite.

Sitecore implemented a personalized home page using search and GeoIP data to show local airports, targeted hero imagery, and live pricing that visitors can add to their basket. The rollout reached all UK and Netherlands traffic by December 2011 and all 19 regional easyJet sites by March 2012; Sitecore served personalized pages to a peak of 2.5 million users during the January Sale 2012, helped deliver easyJet’s best-ever sale (about five sales per second) and produced a significant increase in conversions from the home page to the booking engine.
