Danish Parliament – Streamlining communication and collaboration

The Danish Parliament faced a ten‑year‑old website that was difficult to maintain, couldn’t decentralize content editing or integrate with back‑office systems, and needed to make more than one million documents accessible to 5.5 million citizens and staff. To address these challenges the Danish Parliament selected Sitecore (working with Sitecore partner Addition Consulting) and Sitecore CMS to build a next‑generation, modular and maintainable web platform.

Addition Consulting implemented the solution on Sitecore CMS using its Website Component Container Framework (WCCF) and Sitecore APIs, delivering modules such as the Document Basket, Meeting Booking and advanced search and subscription services fully integrated with back‑office systems. The result was faster publishing and updates, unprecedented openness with over one million documents now accessible, improved citizen and employee engagement (including 80,000 annual visitors and tools to follow politicians’ activity), demonstrating how Sitecore streamlined communication and collaboration.
