A Sitecore Case Study
Bristol Airport, the UK’s ninth largest airport and the largest single-site employer in South West England, faced the challenge of turning early digital engagement into bookings and commercial revenue while supporting ambitious growth to 10 million passengers. The airport had separate mobile and desktop sites, inconsistent user journeys and needed better ways to promote destinations, car parking and retail offerings. Bristol Airport has used the Sitecore Experience Platform since 2012 (implemented with partner e3) to drive this digital transformation.
Using the Sitecore Experience Platform, e3 consolidated Bristol Airport’s sites into a single responsive website, enabled personalized content via Sitecore’s experience marketing tools and Experience Database (MongoDB), and integrated the platform with Microsoft Dynamics CRM while simplifying content editing with the Experience Editor. As a result, Bristol Airport saw a 33% year‑on‑year increase in ecommerce conversion rate in 2014, 47% more transactions, 56% higher revenue and a 15% rise in returning users — all delivered through Sitecore.
