Baku 2015 uses Sitecore to manage the digital experience for the first European Games

Baku 2015 European Games needed a robust, flexible digital platform to support the inaugural European Games’ global audience, multilingual content, fast editorial workflows, and the ability to scale for huge traffic spikes. To meet these requirements the Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee chose Sitecore and its platform to provide the foundation for the Games’ online presence.

Sitecore delivered the Sitecore Experience Platform with Sitecore Azure (implemented by partner POSSIBLE) integrated with Microsoft Azure across two data centers, enabling quick scaling, responsive multi-device design, social media integration, and easy content editing. The site was delivered on time, went live in August 2014, supports Azerbaijani and English, and has attracted visitors from more than 130 countries—demonstrating Sitecore’s impact on reach, performance, and editorial agility.
