Acuity Brands builds new Sitecore site that brings more than 4,500 product web pages to light for business customers

Acuity Brands, a leading provider of lighting and building management solutions, faced a bulky, unreliable website that made it hard for its diverse customers to find the right products across more than 4,500 product pages. To create a more stable, faster platform and reduce maintenance costs, Acuity chose Sitecore (building on the Sitecore Experience Platform, XP 9) to drive a comprehensive site redesign.

Working with Sitecore and partner RDA to deploy Sitecore on Microsoft Azure PaaS and integrate the product information management system and Coveo search, Acuity delivered a faster, more searchable site that supports its main site plus 14 brand sites. The Sitecore implementation cut catalog load and ETL times dramatically (catalog ETL 72→2 hours), sped search from up to 15 seconds to under 2 seconds, improved page loads (4–5s → 2–3s), raised click‑through rates from 70% to 85%, and reduced users unable to find products from ~15% to ~5%, while reducing maintenance overhead and enabling faster time to market.
