Interfolio Streamlines Faculty Management with a Modern Cloud Data Strategy

Interfolio, a provider of faculty management software used by 300+ higher-education institutions, needed a modern data strategy as its user base and data volume grew. Principal Architect Joe Brislin faced the challenge of unifying internal and third-party data (QuickBooks, Salesforce, Pendo, etc.), replacing underperforming BI tools, and enabling scalable, repeatable reporting for both consumer SaaS metrics (Dossier) and enterprise quarterly business reviews.

Interfolio implemented a cloud data stack with Sisense and Snowflake to provide scalable storage, flexible visual and code-based modeling, and both live and in-memory query options. The new platform unified third-party sources, empowered power users to build their own dashboards, and dramatically sped analytics work (what once took a month was done in a week during COVID), while positioning the company to add embedded reporting and EEO benchmarking—delivering measurable efficiency and self-service insights across the organization.
