A Sisense Case Study
Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 confidential text service that connects people in crisis with more than 17,000 trained Crisis Counselors and has amassed over 100 million messages. The organization also runs CrisisTrends.org to share anonymized, research-ready crisis data, but faced a major analytics bottleneck: a clunky BI platform that required monthly CSV uploads, made the public site slow and hard to navigate, and limited staff access to structured data while raising privacy concerns.
By adopting Sisense for Cloud Data Teams, Crisis Text Line moved to real-time, embedded dashboards that connect directly to their database, support Python and R visualizations, and meet HIPAA/HITECH privacy requirements. The result: faster, more dynamic public visualizations on CrisisTrends.org, broader internal self-service data access, tens of thousands of monthly visitors engaging with the site, and a stronger data-driven culture that aids decision-making and recruitment.
