SIOS SANless Clusters Provide HA Protection Needed to Deploy SAP in Microsoft Azure

Zespri International, the world’s largest marketer of kiwi fruit, relied on a large SAP and SQL Server environment to support operations in more than 53 countries. As it moved its business-critical SAP systems to Microsoft Azure, Zespri needed high availability and disaster protection in a cloud environment where shared storage failover clustering is not available. SIOS Technology helped address this challenge with SIOS DataKeeper Cluster Edition.

SIOS Technology implemented SIOS DataKeeper to extend Windows Server Failover Clustering into Azure by synchronizing local storage across cluster nodes in different fault domains. This gave Zespri the flexibility and HA/DR protection needed to run critical SAP and Microsoft SQL Server workloads in the cloud, including one of the largest SAP deployments in Microsoft Azure worldwide with more than 32 nodes. As a result, Zespri gained the scalability of Azure while maintaining the stringent service levels required for its business-critical applications.
