Migros Achieves Critical Business Continuity with SIOS Data Replication Solutions

Migros, the Swiss supermarket giant, needed an open source server setup that could deliver high availability and continuous data protection for its point-of-sale systems without relying on a virtual environment. Working with Realstuff Informatik and SIOS Technology, Migros set out to modernize server infrastructure across its network of stores while minimizing the risk of downtime.

SIOS Technology’s Protection Suite for replication was implemented to provide high availability and data synchronization across two servers in each location, both housed in the same data center. The solution ensured that if one server failed, the other could take over immediately, helping keep POS operations running smoothly for Migros’ 650 stores and supporting continuous access to critical pricing and product data.
