Leading Manufacturer Uses SIOS DataKeeper to Overcome Barriers to Moving Business-Critical SAP ERP System to Cloud

Bonfiglioli, a leading Italian industrial automation and manufacturing company, needed a way to move its business-critical SAP ERP system from an on-premises VMware environment into Microsoft Azure while still meeting strict requirements for application performance, availability, and disaster recovery. To support this cloud migration, the company turned to SIOS Technology and its SIOS DataKeeper Cluster Edition software.

SIOS Technology implemented a two-node cluster approach using SIOS DataKeeper to synchronize storage without relying on shared-bus disks or RDM, enabling high availability for SAP Central Services and providing disaster recovery protection for Azure. The solution was SAP-certified, transparent to the OS, and gave Bonfiglioli a cloud-ready architecture that preserved Windows Server Failover Cluster simplicity while improving flexibility, performance, and resilience.
