Space Model Flyer - Customer Case Study

The UK Spacemodelling Team, a group of UK enthusiasts competing at World Championship level, needed a way to create lighter, high-performance model aircraft parts without the design compromises of traditional fused filament fabrication. Their challenge was finding an affordable additive manufacturing solution that could handle very thin walls and complex shapes, while still meeting the demands of competitive spacemodelling.

Sintratec solved this by providing the Sintratec Kit, enabling the team to use selective laser sintering for stronger, more precise parts at a hobbyist-friendly price. With Sintratec, the team is already producing usable parts with 0.5 mm wall thickness and is working with the vendor to push thinner still, improving weight reduction and performance for future competition models.
