Case Study: EEM AG achieves faster, more functional medical product development with Sintratec SLS

A Sintratec Case Study

Preview of the EEM AG Case Study

SLS creates a new potential for design in medical technology

EEM AG, the company behind the “grow concept” brand of health-promoting products and patented special chairs, needed a way to develop highly functional parts quickly and economically. Its challenge was finding a 3D printing technology that could produce durable, visually suitable prototypes and small-series components without the high cost and post-processing of other methods. Sintratec’s SLS technology, used via the Sintratec S1, fit those requirements.

With Sintratec, EEM AG was able to print more than 20 functional parts per chair, including protective covers, an electronics socket, a remote-control holder, and a quick-release headrest system. The result was faster development, more function-oriented design, and parts with largely the same mechanical and visual properties as injection-moulded components. EEM AG reports that the Sintratec S1 runs day and night in production and has become indispensable to its workflow.
