Case Study: Nabson accelerates product development and cuts sleeve costs with Sinterit Lisa PRO

A Sinterit Case Study

How to expedite research and development of new products

Nabson, a manufacturer of ground power cable assemblies and connectors for the aviation industry, sought to expedite the research and development of a new product line. Their challenge was to develop a protective epoxy housing for a thermal switch that had to fit into a severely limited space within a connector while ensuring sufficient heat transfer. To solve this, they turned to Sinterit and its Lisa PRO SLS 3D printer to produce accurate, durable prototypes in-house.

Sinterit's solution allowed Nabson to rapidly prototype and test over 20 designs in just three weeks. By using the Lisa PRO to print parts with walls as thin as 0.6mm, the company achieved the required accuracy and saved an estimated 50% per part compared to outsourcing. The printer's reliability enabled Nabson to keep up with production demand, operating nearly continuously for months and producing over 1,500 end-use sleeves without incident.
