A Sinterit Case Study
Rotite, a UK-based consumer products company, required a way to bring its patented fastening technology to market faster and more affordably. The high cost and long lead times of traditional injection molding tooling were significant barriers for the lean operation. To overcome this challenge, Rotite turned to the vendor Sinterit and its SLS 3D printing technology.
By implementing the Sinterit Lisa PRO 3D printer, Rotite was able to produce end-use parts and prototypes in-house. This Sinterit solution resulted in a product implementation time that was three times faster and generated a £30,000 savings on a project that would have cost £50,000 with traditional tooling. The efficiency of the process was further demonstrated by a single print job that produced 223 parts, allowing for rapid iteration and production without any investment in expensive molding tools.
