A Sinterit Case Study
H. Gautzsch Firmengruppe, a German distributor of electrical components and home and garden products, sought to understand how additive manufacturing could impact the future of distribution and their supply chains. Their challenge was to explore the potential of producing parts locally versus relying on international suppliers. To investigate this, they launched an in-house AM lab and turned to Sinterit to broaden their capabilities with more advanced polymers.
By implementing the Sinterit LISA SLS 3D printer and powder sieve using PA12 material, Gautzsch gained a compact and economically feasible solution for their lab. This allowed them to experiment with producing a variety of end-use and replacement parts, expanding their scope of activities. The solution from Sinterit provided the company with invaluable insight into which products could transition to local additive manufacturing, helping them strategically plan for future distribution networks.
