Red Deer College (RDC), a Alberta college serving more than 20,000 students across multiple campuses, needed a reliable way to reach students and staff as the campus grew. Without a comprehensive intercom or overhead speaker system, administrators worried they couldn’t effectively deliver emergency alerts or routine campuswide messages and wanted a solution that would integrate with their existing Cisco IP phone investment.

RDC deployed Singlewire’s InformaCast to leverage existing Cisco phones—broadcasting audio and text to handset speakers and screens—and to add overhead paging, automated weather alerts, a bell scheduler, and zone-specific messaging for the college’s five fire zones.
