Oklahoma School District Uses InformaCast to Send School Bus Notifications

Howe Public Schools, a rural district in Howe, Oklahoma serving more than 600 students across two buildings, faced a challenge with long bus rides and students waiting outside in harsh weather without knowing when the bus would arrive. The district turned to Singlewire Software’s InformaCast, along with GPS bus data and Webex Teams, to improve bus stop communication and help families know when pickups were near.

Singlewire Software’s InformaCast was used to trigger SMS alerts to parents when a bus was about five minutes from a stop, reducing time spent waiting in the cold or heat and helping students avoid missed rides. The system also gave the security team the same updates parents received, and Howe Public Schools expanded InformaCast for building notifications, bell schedules, and camera-linked alerts to strengthen campus safety and communication.
