New York School District Takes Emergency Preparedness to the Next Level with InformaCast® and AtlasIED

Genesee Valley School District, a rural New York K-12 district serving about 600 students, needed to replace its decades-old PA system with a more modern and reliable communications solution. The district wanted a system that could handle both daily bell schedules and emergency notifications more efficiently, and it turned to Singlewire Software, along with AtlasIED IPX endpoints, to meet those needs.

Singlewire Software’s mass notification software was integrated with the district’s existing Cisco-based setup, while AtlasIED IP speakers and displays were installed across the campus to support paging, alerts, and zone-based bell scheduling. The new system improved emergency communications with flashing red alerts, scrolling text, and one-button pre-recorded messages for lockdowns and shelter-in-place events, while also covering more than 200 speakers throughout the 230,500-square-foot campus and outdoor areas.
