Michigan School District Transforms Safety Strategy with Mass Notification

Saline Area Schools, a Michigan district serving about 5,000 students and 600 staff, needed a faster, clearer way to deliver emergency alerts across multiple buildings and noisy spaces. The district was concerned that its existing process limited who could initiate lockdowns and that some messages were not reaching everyone or were being misunderstood, putting student and staff safety at risk.

Singlewire Software implemented InformaCast, a mass notification and incident management solution, to expand alerting with audio and visual notifications across Cisco IP phones, speakers, digital signage, TVs, projector screens, and strobe lights. The result was a more unified and accessible emergency communication system that let any person in the building trigger alerts quickly, improved lockdown response, and gave staff greater confidence that messages would reach everyone, including students with hearing impairments.
