Michigan School District Enhances Safety and Security With InformaCast

Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), a regional education service agency supporting 11 public districts in Michigan with 1,600 students and 450 staff across six campuses, needed to replace outdated, unreliable systems to better protect students, staff and visitors. District leaders sought a modern, feature-rich, scalable communications platform to improve safety, support emergency responses, and allow future buy-in from other districts.

LISD deployed a unified communications solution with InformaCast mass notification (Cisco-compatible) to join phones, door locks, PA and strobe systems, digital displays and mobile devices. Alerts can be triggered from IP phones, the mobile app or CAP feeds and deliver text and audio across multiple channels for lockdowns, 911, weather warnings, visitor notifications and more. The rollout dramatically improved safety and communications, increased staff adoption, enabled coordinated responses with law enforcement, and positioned LISD to scale the solution and share costs with neighboring districts.
