A Singlewire Software Case Study
Holland Hospital, a western Michigan health system with more than 2,250 staff and nearly 50 home health clinicians who travel to patients across two counties, needed a better way for remote workers to call for help. Relying on phone calls and codewords left dispatchers without reliable location or identity details, and the organization also needed faster, more consistent ways to alert staff across 32 facilities—especially during severe weather.
The hospital implemented InformaCast, a mass-notification and incident-management platform with a mobile panic-button app that sends the user’s name and location and triggers notifications to dispatch, 911, and designated responders. Holland configured incident codes to reach about 1,900 endpoints (IP phones, overhead speakers, SMS, Teams, email) and enabled automated weather alerts, resulting in faster, more targeted responses, greater staff confidence that help is coming, and improved preparedness across its facilities.
