InformaCast® Helps Oregon Community College Protect Commuter Students

Clatsop Community College, a small Oregon college serving over 1,000 students and 150 staff across a main campus and two satellite locations, struggled to notify its largely commuter population when severe weather or other disruptions forced closures. Without a unified alert system, administrators could not reliably reach everyone quickly, risking students traveling in dangerous conditions.

Clatsop implemented InformaCast, a cloud-based mass-notification platform that sends SMS, email, phone, desktop and digital-signage alerts and integrates with existing campus phones and Microsoft Teams. With automatic enrollment, optional text/call delivery, ADA-compliant audio/visual messages, remote activation, and delivery analytics, the system improved reach and response times, reduced travel risk, and became a regularly used communications tool for both emergencies and routine campus updates.
